Fri., March 6 Women in Art History: Renaissance woman Christine de Pizan steps into the limelight in a discussion-based class at Northwind Art School at Fort Worden. De Pizan penned some of the first works of feminist literature, and used her creativity to carve out space and power in a patriarchal world. Learn more and sign up for this class at https://northwindart.org. This is the penultimate class in the Women in Art History series, so come join teaching artist Lorelei Amato. No art or history experience required.
De Pizan entered an arranged marriage at age 15 — and then, after she was widowed in 1389, she supported her family with her writing, including the famous "The Book of the City of Ladies." Let's learn about her groundbreaking work.
