Cole Porter’s music and lyrics sparkle in this play-within-a-play about a theatre company doing a musical version of Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew. The leading lady and director/producer/star are former spouses whose backstage antics spill onto the stage with hilarious results—especially after the appearance of two gangsters there to collect a debt incurred by the second male lead who has signed the director’s name to an IOU.
You will hum along to such tunes as “Wunderbar”, “Always True to You” “Too Darn Hot” and “Brush Up Your Shakespeare” among others.
