The Conversation: Advocating for the End-of-Life Care You Want. Instructor: Elizabeth Walker
The best time to make decisions about what medical care you want as you age or if you become incapacitated is now, whatever your age or state of health. This class will help you learn about your health care options, decide what you think you will want, identify and have conversations with people who need to be informed, choose an advocate to support you, and fill out the legal documents that help ensure that you will get the care you want. Doing this work is a gift for your future self as well as your loved ones. The work calls on our minds, heart and spirits; we’ll work to support each other as we engage with it, Please get the book The Conversation, by Angelo Volandes, MD, on your own and read the first three chapters plus Appendix 1, before the first class. Bring a laptop to class if you can.
