Hello Friends,
There comes a point every summer when the garden stops promising and starts becoming.
Tomatoes begin to redden. Blackberries gather sweetness. The air holds the warmth of the day a little longer. Nothing hurries, and yet everything is making.
That is the season we're entering.
Our next Studio Week begins with a live Zoom gathering on Friday, July 24, followed by a week of gentle daily invitations to return to your creative practice. Together we'll spend time keeping company with whatever is asking to be made—not forcing it into bloom, but tending it with the kind of attention that allows living things to reveal themselves.
This year's theme is Summer ⁓ Making because making is less like building a machine and more like walking a familiar path through the woods. You notice what has changed. You notice what has returned. You learn to trust what appears when you arrive with an open notebook, a warm cup of tea, and the willingness to stay a while.
As always, there will be room for conversation, reflection, and a little everyday magic. We won't be chasing inspiration. We'll be setting a place for it, like leaving an extra teacup on the table to see who arrives.
