Wed April 8 "Embodied Gesture and the Foundations of Expressing Touch" is a new class at Northwind Art. This lively class is guided by theater artist and scholar Judd Farris of Port Townsend, and features gesture drawing exercises, art history and collaborative art. To find out more and sign up, visit https://northwindart.org.  This workshop is designed for visual artists who are inspired by performance, movement, and the body. Participants will actively draw, move, experiment, and reflect on how their hands and whole bodies express our thoughts. Through quick gesture drawings, slower observational studies, movement-based prompts, and collaborative exercises, participants will explore gesture as a way of thinking with the body. With Michelangelo, Shakespeare and Leonardo da Vinci as our companions, we will also find the power in the artistic expression of touch. Pictured: teaching artist Judd Farris.
