July 14, 15 and 21: Summer Dance Concerts presented by Bill Evans

SUMMER DANCE I, II AND III, 2024, July 14, 15 and 21!

Bill Evans will present three different evenings of contemporary dance, all at Fort Worden, Pay What You Can, at 7:00 pm.

On Sunday, July 14 and Monday, July 15, the performances will take
place in the USO Hall. On Sunday, July 21, the concert will happen in the JFK Hall. Doors will open at 6:30 pm.

The July 14 concert will include seven works by artists from six different states, featuring such superb artists as Patrick Suzeau, internationally-acclaimed performer, choreographer and professor emeritus at the University of Kansas. The July 15 show will include seven different works, created and performed by artists from six different states and one Canadian province, featuring such exquisite performers as Kathy Diehl, former dancer in the Bill Evans Dance Company in New York, who now heads the dance program at Colorado Mesa University.

The July 21 performance will showcase eight choreographers, including Bill Evans, who will present excerpts from City of Dreams performed by Lauren Ehnebuske, Ashley Friend, Don Halquist, Anna Hansen, Camille Hildebrandt, Rae Kala and Stephanie Sanders.

Each show will be different and varied, with dances that are lyrical, emotionally-moving, quirky or humorous, performed by artists across the age spectrum.

In addition, there will be a site-specific work facilitated by Evans performed at Memory’s Vault in the Fort Worden bunkers, in memory of Suzie Lundgren, a long-time member of the Bill Evans Dance family who passed away in January.
Tuesday, July 16, 7:45 to 8:15 pm, no charge.
