P-Town is a Physical-Comedy, Action-Adventure Series set in a fictionalized Port Townsend where three unlikely friends- a bum, a ninja assassin, and Steve- form a union and embark on the most unnecessary of adventures. Although the story follows these three characters through the entire series, and they are the thread that weaves it all together, the show is really about the alternate and fantastical realities they end up in: improvising in the bathroom when you're out of toilet paper and running water, dodging lasers when dumpster diving for tacos, panhandling with a smart phone. These are some of the situations that they find themselves in.
The pilot episode of P-Town was produced by Port Townsend natives Tomoki Sage, Kiyota Sage, Chen Pollina, Michael McCurdy and Daniel Milholland. All but Michael are also members of the popular performing arts group NANDA and have been representing Port Townsend as "cultural ambassadors" with their unique brand of performance style for over 10 years. In 2012 the guys teamed up with childhood friend, PT resident and filmmaker Michael McCurdy to produce what's known locally as the "Mattress Tag Video," and have been collaborating on projects since.
The team sees P-Town as a logical next step for their work and and are excited to build a foundation for collaboration with creative professionals in Port Townsend and throughout the Northwest. "We want P-Town to support the arts, build community and expand the local economy," says producer Daniel Milholland of Thunderbull Productions.
The creative goal with P-Town is to build up an audience and patron base that will allow the team to take their work "to the next level," explains Tomoki Sage, P-Town director, writer and actor. "Our goal is to create a platform for story and characters to unfold, while being able to throw in scenes, characters, bits and pieces of all kinds without breaking the stride of the story."
