Fall into the next Bardroom with Zaid Sethi
Dear Friends
To celebrate the start of autumn we’ve got a special “Playrights’ Bardroom” lined up just for you this Saturday night.
Headlining the evening, fresh from performances this month
of his new play The Affair and the publishing of his short story in
the latest Pilvax, please join us in celebrating "local" writer Zaid Sethi!
Zaid, a Pakistani transplant to Budapest, is a warm and wonderful voice of
fiction and drama on the Budapest scene. We know you will enjoy his reading and
the great lineup of teas, coffees and inexpensive homemade foods as the
Bardroom returns to our usual home at Nyitott Muhely for this event. We are so
pleased to welcome Zaid to our Bardroom forum.
Joining Zaid on the bill, please help us welcome Marianne Powell in her Bardroom debut. Marianne is a UK-born playwright who has been based in Budapest for the last year. Her work has been performed in London venues including the Southwark Playhouse, the Leicester Square Theatre and the Broadway, Barking. She will be previewing a short extract from a new piece, What Might Have Been Lost.
As always at this month’s Bardroom we will host a spontaneous poetry contest, as well as quiz questions, prizes and more!
Open mic slots are still available. If you wish to read please contact us in advance and then show up at least a half hour in advance to confirm your slot.
Please join us at Nyitott Műhely for this full evening program this Saturday, 29 September 2012 from 7:00 pm. until about 9:30 pm.
Nyitott Műhely is at Ráth György u. 4., just around the corner from Déli railway station. For more information call: (+36 1) 21 40 676.
We are asking a 500 forint admission fee, from which guests are entitled to a great hot mug of one of Laci’s incredible specialty teas, with over two dozen varieties to choose from! In this way it’s still practically free to attend -- we are just assuring our host this way that we appreciate his wonderful teahouse hospitality. Additional café fare including great cheap homemade food is also available.
Thanks and we hope to see you there!
Andrew
