Hi everyone!
I know there is still snow on the ground, but believe it or not, it's time to think about Passover. The holiday begins on Saturday evening , March 27. This year, everything has been different (thanks a lot COVID) and Passover is no exception. Here's the plan:
Between Saturday morning March 27 and Sunday evening , March 28, anyone who signs up in advance can go to Kline and pick up a kit that we're calling "Seder-in-a-box". Inside you'll find three matzahs, some grape juice, a hard-boiled egg, some parsley, some salt for making saltwater (sorry, you have to provide your own water!), a roasted bone of some sort, some horseradish and some harpse. and a Hagadah. Equipped with this box, you might choose to have a Seder on Saturday evening with small number of physically distanced and masked friends, and/or you can participate via zoom in a Seder on Sunday night (the second night of the holiday) that will be conducted by our new Rabbi, Joshua Boetigerr (more about that in an upcoming email). On Friday evening, March 19, at Shabbat (5:30 p.m. in the MPR),  I will be talking about how to do a Seder on your own.
If you want a kit, you must sign-up in advance – there will be no extra kits for students who did not preregister. To sign up to get a kit, simply email me (Nelson@Bard. edu) no later than Monday March 22. So spread the word around campus and don't forget to email me.
Got questions ? Email me!
I look forward to hearing from you
L' shalom,
David
