Dear Friends,

Even though we are still not in person, I am selfishly happy that it gives me the chance to invite each of you to join me (still in Oregon) this Friday evening at 5:30pm over zoom (link is below) for a short Shabbat gathering. It will be Rosh Hodesh, the first day of the month of Adar, so we’ll have a chance to talk a bit about Purim and mostly just to connect. I look forward to seeing those of you who are able to make it. Also, I am forwarding along a message from Sui Generis looking for submissions from students – see below (under the zoom link).

L’shalom,
Joshua Boettiger

Sui Generis is currently seeking Hebrew translations from students and peers within the Bard community!

Students interested in the journal are able to submit translations of pieces from different mediums of written language. Translations into English of comic book panels, essays, poems, news, articles, and writing excerpts are all accepted. Typically they should be less than five pages of translation, unless approved by a journal.

This year, the deadline for submissions is February 26th, and all translations and should be submitted via https://suigeneris.bard.edu/.

Please cite the original text and attach a copy of it alongside your translation. If you think it is appropriate, attach a brief description of your work. For all Latin script languages, please submit your translation as a Word document; for all non-Latin script languages, please submit your work as a pdf.

Please email us at suige...@bard.edu with any questions!

Thank you,
Sui Generis
