1) Please remember to vote this week! While we officially endorse
Giery/Smith, we encourage you to check out the platforms of BOTH
candidate teams and make an informed decision based on what you want
to get out of UCF. There are also two resolutions up for voting. The
Green Fee and punishment guidelines for marijuana offenses similar to
those of alcohol offenses.

If you'd like to help out with the Giery/Smith campaign, report to one
of several tables outside of the Student Union or contact Eric
Eingold.

2) There are lots of animal rights stories in the news lately!

The largest beef recall in history is currently taking place (143
million pounds, enough burgers for every man, woman, and child in the
US to have 2) due to an undercover video showing workers abusing
downed animals. While we in the animal rights movement know that this
is not an isolated incident, it's AWESOME to see product being pulled
from shelves due to animal cruelty. Several employees have been fired
and 2 have been charged with animal cruelty. While the company is
using their regular rhetoric; acting as if they're appalled to find
out that *gasp* animal abuse happens in factory farms?! It's still
nice to see this covered in the national news.

There are also news reports of more animal testing alternatives. Check
them out here:

involved in its passing. We will also be writing in to the Future to
