Hello All!

Welcome to BARC at UCF!

Our first meeting of the semester took place this past Wednesday. Here
are the meeting notes (graciously provided by the lovely Elissa) from
that meeting:

Meeting Notes 8/27/08

Thanks to everyone who came out today! For those of you who couldn't
make it, here's an overview of what we went over today:

-Radical Rush!!!
Radical Rush starts the Monday after next (the 8). We'll be tabling at
Memory Mall from 10:00-2:00 every day of the week with other
progressive groups. You can also camp out under all the tents
overnight (if you want to). We're also going to have additional
events, which may include getting a guest speaker, and getting a few
bands to play one night along with a potluck. We'll discuss it more
next week.

(For all the newbies, Radical Rush is a weeklong event held by
Progressive Council at the beginning of the semester to recruit new
members for all of the Progressive groups at UCF. This year the theme
is Tent City.)

-Tabling
You can find us outside the Student Union every Wednesday from
10:00-2:00, so feel free to help out or to just stop by and hang out!

-Breakfasts
We'll be having our free vegan breakfasts at the Burnett Honors
College once a month on Monday at 7:30am. Our first breakfast hasn't
been scheduled yet, but we'll let you know when the first one is
coming up

-The Zine
At the next meeting, we'll be brainstorming any ideas you may have of
anything you'd like to contribute to the Zine. If you want more info
about it or are interested in being a part of it, join this group!! -

-We also discussed other activities that everyone might be interested
in (protests, making new literature, etc). If you have any ideas, let
us know!

We have also finalized our meeting time for this semester to be
Thursdays at 6:00p.m. at the gazebo near the bookstore. Hope you can
make it!
