Hey all
In case you haven't seen it yet, we are having our 3d StartupCamp in
Waterloo (at Accelerator Centre) on June 3. check out
http://barcamp.org/StartupCampWaterloo for details and to sign up.
Two cools things:
* John Philip Green and Malgosia Green of http://savvica.com/ are
going to be talking about their startup experience since graduating
from Waterloo
* Sun has launched a new Start Up program for cheaper, better
equipment.

change in Speaker. John and Malgosia are unavailable due to their
investor coming into town from India so... What do you think about
doing a "how to" at the start of the session instead and then
launchign into startups
if you like the idea, please indicate what you'd want ot know "how to
do" and we'll get the right folks talking about that

How to know when to launch your product
how to build a marketing plan with no money
how to start a start up
how to ....

It can be guided under the context of 'why a startup' or something but
I thought a simple question would do it. I am going to send out emails
to a few folks that I think should answer this question... if anyone

"Why" gets us up in the morning, and puts us to sleep at night. "Why" directs our every step throughout the day.
"Why" is why I come to Camp.
I've been toying with the idea of presenting "Why we stopped chasing other people's money, and are just doing it for ourselves," depending what else is on the board, come Tuesday night.
It's all about ownership and value, and personal values, i.e., "why".
I'm considering doing a brief rant as an antidote to the must-get-funding mentality that seems to pervade sponsored gatherings. Create real value, and financing will be the least of your challenges. The only permission we need is a paying customer's.

That's an excellent choice of question. Although I have to admit that
I didn't understand that it *was* the question until I saw Norman's
response :)
