Hi all,

When this group was first started, it was described as an announcement
list. We've recently had a bit more activity so now the question is
whether we should see this list as also a discussion list (or perhaps
the community already does).

So in the spirit of "let the community decide", we've created a voting
page here:

http://groups.google.com/group/BarCampSydney/web/vote---barcamp-sydney-list---just-announce-or-also-discussion

Just update the page with your vote.

As an example, the Sydney Dorkbot chapter (and probably others) have an
"announcements" and a "blabber" mailing list which take care of this dilemma.

Subscribe to the daily e-mail digest. I'm on some workgroups, which by nature would have a lot more announcements than barcamp, and it's completely manageable. As long as its barcamp related, I don't see how it's an issue. The barcamp mailing list might buzz 3-5 times a year - I can handle a peak of activity like that.
