Attention, everyone! We have registered the BarCamp Society Latvia
(?)
ed and opened a bank account. The time has come to deal with visas.
There are a lot of participants, and some people have already dropped
out, someone forgets to indicate important details in the
application,
etc. And in the original informational post about visas, we actually
forgot to ask for some information from you. Corresponding with each
participant on an individual basis takes a very long time.
So right now Nikita is creating a special form that you need to fill
to apply for an invitation. This will be a reusable form useful not
only for the upcoming Barcamp2008 Latvia, but for all Barcamps.
This form will be ready by the end of next week.
If there is someone who needs to get an urgent invitation (consider
that 24-25th is Christmas weekend, and 26, 27 in Latvia are still
normal business days so that something can be done during these
couple
of days), then please send a letter to
di...@barcamp.lv. In the email
please specify additional information (apart from the info outlined
here -
http://barcamp.lv/2007/11/09/visa/):
* City, where the embassy is situated, to which we will send the
invitation
* length of time for which you will need a visa (please keep in
mind that there should be for at least 4 people applying for a visa
with the same duration of stay at any given embassy - this is due to
the fact that the invitations will be made for groups of people, not
individually)
* place in Riga, where you plan to stay (e.g. hostel - mentioned
by Filatov, Reval Hotel, etc.) - this information is required by the
Ministry to issue invitations.
Even if you have sent a request for an invitation listing all your
info, please make sure that you have all the requested information
spelled in LATIN letters. If you sent me the information in Russian,
Ukrainian, Belarusian, please send again, but in Latin (English)
spelling - there is no point for me to be guessing which is the right
way to spell your name in English (Latin alphabet) :)
