Just found out that BarCampMiami (http://www.barcampmiami.org/) is
going to be held on Thursday, February 28th. Why on a Thursday?
Because that Friday will be the "Future of Web Apps" conference
(http://futureofwebapps.com/2008/miami/). On December 13th, at the
Orlando Ruby Users Group (see below for more info) we will be raffling
off a ticket to the Future of Web Apps. I'm sure there will be many
of us traveling down for both events, and it should be a blast!
Here are your December events.
Every Tuesday - Cup'o code - 7 PM
Cup 'o Code (http://www.cfphp.org/) is a informal coworking meetup
put together by Mike Girouard where developers of any skill level can
meet up and work amongst each other.
Tuesday, December 4th - Adobe Users Group Meeting - 7 PM at Devry
This month the Adogo (http://www.adogo.us) will be talking about
Coldbox, and doing a bird of a feather discussion about Cold Fusion
frameworks.
Wednesday, December 5th - PodcampOrlando planning meeting - 7 PM
Ryan Price has decided to push forward with the creation of
PodCampOrlando (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=7069862679).
Unlike BarCamp, this is an event for exploring new media like podcasts
and the like. If you'd like to get involved with the planning of this
event Ryan is holding a planning event on the 5th at 7 PM. See the
facebook group for more information.
Thursday, December 13th - Orlando Ruby Users Group Meeting - 7 PM at Devry
This month Jason Seifer will be presenting on Unobtrusive
Javascript techniques, and I will be presenting on explaining REST web
services (http://www.orug.org). Both talks will be useful even if
you're not a Ruby programmer, and we'll be raffling off a free ticket
to the "Future of Web Apps" conference!
Saturday, December 15th - Orlando .NET users group - 9 AM to 3 PM
This month the .NET users group (http://onetug.net/) will be
providing a free tutorial on Microsoft's Silverlight and Windows
Presentation Foundation (WPF).
Monday, December 17th - Florida Creatives Holiday Party - 6 PM - 9 PM
at Crooked Bayou
Florida Creatives (http://www.floridacreatives.org) is celebrating
it's first anniversary with a holiday party. There will be a door
price, yet to be determined so we can buy food for everyone and we're
hoping to work out some deal with the brewery as well. It will be $15
or less.
Saturday, December 15th - Central Florida PHP - 3 PM at Devry
All of these events can be found on the Orlando Calendar Tech
Feed, which can be found on the www.orug.org right sidebar. Let me
know if there are any events I've missed.
