Few events you should know about.
First of all Florida Creatives is this Monday, September 21st.
It's not a user group, it's not an unconference, it's not a geek
dinner, it's not a meetup or a networking event. Yet, people who enjoy
these types of events will find a home at our table. For more
information and to RSVP go to http://floridacreatives.com/.
Next up BarCamp Tampa Bay is next weekend, September 26-27th at
USF. Saturday Sept. 26 will again be Dev Day, where last year we
discussed Mobile Apps, iPhone apps, Adobe AIR, WinBatch, Python,
RubyonRails, Voice Apps, Project Management, Ning, Erlang, Django and
PHP. Sunday, Sept. 27 will be New Media Day, where last year
presentations centered on Twitter, Blogging, Rich Internet Apps,
social media, podcasting, Internet Video, SEO, Contextual Ads, mobile
marketing, RSS, Jelly, and VoIP. For more info see
http://barcamptampabay.org
Some of you may have met Steve Bristol & Allan Branch (from
LessEverything.com) at one of our previous barcamps. These guys are
putting together a conference in Jacksonville on Saturday, October 17,
2009 for marketers, designers, coders, business people, and
freelancers called LessConf. Speakers include Gary Vaynerchuk
(WineLibrary.tv), Derek Sivers (CDBaby.com), Kevin Hale (Wufoo.com),
Mike McDerment (Freshbooks.com), David Hauser (Grasshopper.com), and
Eoghan McCabe and Des Traynor (Contrast.ie). For more information
head over to http://LessConf.com. Also, if you use the promo code
"fatissexy" when you signup you'll get 10% off.
BarCamp Jacksonville seems to be planned the day after Less Conf on
Sunday October 18th, 2009. There doesn't seem to be any official site
up about it yet though.
That's all for now, hopefully see some of you at Florida Creatives
Monday or at BarCamp Tampa Bay.
