DRAFT MESSAGE BELOW:
Hi all :) Anyone/anything I'm forgetting?
-------------------------
Hi everyone! Well, we've all had a day to recover and reflect a bit, and I really couldn't be happier with how BarCampNYC5 turned out, and I just wanted to say some thankyous to everyone involved.
First, a huge thank you to the coordinating team and volunteers who helped during the event. BarCamp can't happen without everyone pitching in to help, and that was especially true of this event, where we *ahem* pushed the boundaries of just how literally we can take the "ad-hoc" description :)
Thanks once again to Microsoft and Peter Laudati for their hospitality, having us in their incredible space, and for all the help they provided along the way. Thanks also to Brian (
@bsimi) and the Roger Smith Hotel (@
RSHotel) for letting us descend with a posse of Barcampers and run 8-Bit trivia in their space Saturday night!
Also, thank you for coming, sharing your knowledge, and making this such a fantastic event. Every time we do this, I'm amazed at just how much we have to learn from each other, and that we really don't need to fly halfway across the country and pay for expensive conferences to learn about some of the most cutting edge stuff going on. It's happening right here.
Finally, thanks as always to our awesome sponsors, who make is possible for us to keep BarCampNYC a free, fun, t-shirted event. Please be sure to check out their services below and thank them for supporting free, community focused tech events here in NYC.
Hope you had a great time, and please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have questions, need help reconnecting with someone you met at the event, or are interested in helping with the next camp!
Thank you all!
