Dear Group Members,
As I am starting my first online retail initiative, I need to register my firm as proprietorship.
The category I deals in does not come under VAT. I need to open a bank account and require a firm identity.
What is the option, I can have as firm Identity.
I one of friend suggested me to register under "shop and establishment". Is it right for online retail store? How much it will cost?

Shop establishment license should cost around Rs. 3,000 - 4,000 keeping one employee in mind. The cost increases depending upon the employees. For around 50 employees, the cost should be around Rs. 12,000 - Rs. 13,000
For sole proprietorship firm, you don't need registration like any partnership or pvt. ltd. companies. Just make sure you have PAN card, shop establishment license and address proof (mostly MTNL or electricity bill) ready for bank account opening.
Once that is done, you can apply for service tax number too (if required)
I don't think you need anything else to get started.

Hi Group Members,
As suggested by a friend, I have visited to register for the firm and found that they have a "Trade License" form which is not actually a Shop and Establishment Form.
Do any one know why a BBMP Trade License and Shop and Establishment Registration is taken as the purpose to get any one of these will be different and how it is different from each other?
I am just confused which one should be taken for online retail business (buying in bulk and selling in retail via online) for proprietorship firm with no employees and which one is mandatory?
