New community website for Indian films

A couple of Indian film aficionados have got together to build a
community website for Indian films.

We are putting together a participatory, non-proprietary web platform
using the best of web 2.0 concepts. Web is ideally suited for creating
a community for a domain like films.

The scope includes films in all Indian languages and all formats
(feature, documentary, newsreel), and also includes non-certified
films, essentially it is inclusive of the "long-tail" of Indian films.

India has a rich heritage of films and archives can at best preserve
celluloid, posters and soundtracks. We believe people are a rich
repository of film information and also the trusted carriers of this
heritage. A community effort on an open platform will help preserve
and enrich our film heritage.

A lot of us are experienced techies with a passion for cinema and we
are keen that more film professionals and amateurs join us.
