I apologize for not communicating more about BarcampMiami, but with
the change of jobs, I've been pretty busy. But thanks to the help of
Kim Grinfeder, who has secured the sponsorship as well as provided the
venue, we're still very much on track for February 21st. I've arranged
for the catering and have a local printer that is giving us good
prices for printing t-shirts. A number of people have started to sign
up and others have expressed interest in presenting.

We are looking for more sponsorship, so if you know of interested
companies please let us know. This is a not-for-profit event and all
monies spent will be accounted for and excess funds will be either
returned pro-rata to sponsors or put into a fund for future Barcamp
events.

In my opinion, Barcamp is changing the way we think about conferences
and getting the word out about our startups. Jason Calacanis, ex-
Weblogs and ex-AOL, practically said the same in his post yesterday:

As you know, Barcamp has no leader (sounds like Fight Club, lol) and
it is up to everyone to participate in any way they can.

If you haven't signed up already, please do so at http://barcamp.org/
