1) Oct and Nov are going to be pretty busy.
Oct 3-4 BarCampMKE4
Oct 24 http://web608.org/events/2009/08/05/madcamp
Oct 31 (though it may get move to the 1st) Open Everything Madison 3
?Nov 13? Open Music Madison (this date has very much *NOT* been confirmed)
Regardless of when OMMad is, I'm concerned the less enthusiastic among
us (or probably those not on the list) will see it fit to skip 1 or
more of these events. I'll certainly be skipping the .NET event, but
that has nothing to do with event overload.
2) Though we lose some of the identity of Open Everything, we could
*potentially* work the events into the same thing. We could have an
OE tract at BarCamp. Of course, there's the whole Halloween thing and
OE is pretty much married to that weekend for something so that we
keep pace with the worldwide event (not everywhere celebrates
Halloween, ya know). I haven't tossed this idea out to the OEMad
group, but I know several of those people are on this list. Just
brainstorming.
Of course, having one in the winter wouldn't be the worst idea in the
world, but bad weather could cut attendance drastically. The snow
would certainly give an opportunity for a different type of photowalk!

Worldwide Open Everything event, October 31, 2009
Thanks for mentioning BarCampMilwaukee4... We're only a month out... Yikes!
Personally, I'm not attending a .NET event...
Open Everything, I will try to make it to, but it's only a 50% chance
right now.
There is also this in Milwaukee the weekend before BCMKE4:
http://www.startupaccelerator.org/
Open Music Madison is another 50% chance I could make it... and I'm an
"open musician" even!
But then, my schedule is always a little crazy...
I've sort of taken the approach that the people who are really into it,
will make it there. Well, 75% of them will. The other 25% will have
something come up, either unexpected, or another event/thing/whatever
that precludes them making it.
Decide what you want out of an event. Large numbers of people, or any
number (be it small) with passionate participants.
For BCMKE4, we have no idea how many people will be there, but we'll do
our best to make it good for the people who are there... that's all we
really can do.
