1. Discussed sponsorship money.
  • $200 sponsorships should be easy.
  • Also look for in-kind sponsors (e.g. food, T-shirts, space, etc.)
2. Marketing strategies:
  • Keeping "Barcamp Madison" name and not switching to MadCamp or other
  • Use other Festival events as feeders (FT Conf, HTHH, Cap Entreps)
  • Update barcampmadison.org with embedded Eventbrite and self hosted session registration
  • Facebook Fan page
  • Twitter strategy
  • Articles
  • "Keynote" presenters who'd draw a crowd
  • Early commitments from presenters who can write about what they'll be presenting on 
3. Location, related to participation:
  • College of engineering was best location yet.
  • Last year petered out by 3/3:30.
4. Target Date
  • August 17th
TO-DO BEFORE NEXT MEETING DATE (toward end of April)

Andrew:
  • Get numbers and budget from last year (as goals/benchmarks)
  • Get list of last year's sponsors
  • Reach out to Dane Net
Jody:
  • Create a marketing launch schedule once we have an event date (Jody)
Preston:
  • See if College of engineering is available this year
