BarCamp Status Update

We had our meeting on Wednesday and this is where we are at currently.

Preston has been doing a great job tracking down a venue.  It seems that WID isn't really an option for this year.  However he got a verbal go ahead that we can use the Engineering Hall. He'll be following up on that lead.

One interesting development since the meeting is that we will most likely be having the event alongside the "Incubate, Accelerate, and Capital to Grow" event which is being coordinated by Matt Storms.  For info about their event last year see http://alphatechcounsel.com/capital-saving-raising-2011.html

The IACG event will ideally function like a special BarCamp track and people will be able to come and go between events.

This is the status of the various aspects of the event planning:

Venue: See above
Tables & Chairs: TBD based on info about Engineering Hall
Projectors & Screens: We'll see what's available at Engineering, we've had people bring projectors in the past
Food: We'll find out what restrictions we'll have at Engineering, probably get catering through Good Food if we're able
Markers & Name Tags: Alnisa has a bunch of this stuff that she's offering for us to use
Sponsors: We're lowering the sponsorship amount from $250 to $100 so ideally we can get more small sponsors to participate

We now need people to contact folks for sponsorships.  Send them to http://barcampmadison.org/sponsors/ and have them use the paypal button.  That will be the easiest way for us to collect the funds.

I'll be following up with people individually if I need anything special from you.
