It's all bad news from me I'm afraid.

Chased Cocoa Bee and they said numbers were too prohibitive.  *sighs* public group so comment moderated...

Miller just got back to me and said they have committed to 2010/2011 sponsorships and things and while they do consider ad hoc requests they could not do our event.

I'm thinking Mars, Coke and Miller should be approached now for the next Barcamp or whatever  in 2011 so we can get some big name sponsors early on.  I know we don't know when it will be but I'm assuming it'll be a "when" not "if".

My husband, when I informed him I would be taking Friday off, said "oh good then we can get there for Friday evening events" to which I said "well, I didn't try to get you a ticket because I didn't know you wanted to go and I can only manage the one beanbag and we're just going to be setting up because I'm crewing" to which he said "what do you mean?  I paid for us both to have tickets and booked the hotel" to which I said " what are you talking about?  I'm going to barcamp..." to which he said "No, *WE'RE* going to Novacon - I had this planned for months and you're coming with me..."

A row ensued.

Suffice to say, for the sake of my marriage, I now have a beanbag chair I need to get rid of and I am in Nottingham on Friday and not London :'-(

This has not been my week from spilling an *ENTIRE* grande gingerbread latte on my desk to this disaster of my not being able to attend to being completely rejected by everyone I asked for sponsorship.

I'm not a happy bunny and I feel bad for having tried and failed to get even stuff that seemed to positive (coke) or that said they just wanted to speak (lemonade) or *offered* (cocoa bee) as well as having to go to Nottingham this weekend when I'd rather be in London (and have specifically gotten stuff for an overnight stay!)

Maybe next time I'll be more useful.

Oh dear :(
Don't worry.. These things happen at the best of times.. At least you found out now, rather than Friday afternoon!!
You'll definitely be missed..

I'm wildly bummed to be missing it.  It was to be my first overnighter too (usually I go home to Oxfordshire :-S) and I had this beanbag for just that purpose...

I'm so sad!  And moody and I will _not_ be good company this weekend :-( but I love hubby so... there ya go.

It's not even like I can escape.  I'll be in NOTTINGHAM!

*sobs*

Definitely husbands before BarCamps. But obviously BarCamps before kids, just look at Paul ;)

:-D *hahaha*

Well, it *is* his birthday today as well so I'm guessing he viewed this as a birthday treat or something (nice to tell me).

Or something...

Rescue my t-shirt for me someone. I was proud of that and I wanted to sport it the whole weekend.  I put hours of thought into it :'-(

You're not the only one who's shirt we have to pick up for them and get to them later. Anyone who can pick it up for you that you see more often than me or Kevin?
