Barcamp Durgapur??

Hi, I am Debayan Banerjee, Final Year B.Tech Information Technology at
NIT Durgapur. We are organising Mukti this year from 6th to 8th
February, which is an annual FOSS symposium. I was going to come to
Barcamp Kolkata but could not make it due to some circumstances.
I was thinking of organising Barcamp Durgapur during Mukti. What do
you guys think? What do I need to do to set things rolling?

take a look at some of the wikis of the barcamps happening in india...
setup a similar wiki on ur domain or on barcamp.org
venue is already taken care of. but try to keep ur room slightly off-located from the other events.
i would suggest since u are doin the camp with a fest, dont offer freebies.. that will improve the s/n ratio and quality of crowd. it also eliminates the need for sponsorship... watever minimal costs you have could be taken care of by you festival committee i guess.
dont over-publicise the camp. do some targeted publicity so that only the critical mass knows it is happening.
