Hi Everybody,

I am planning to get some car shades made to spread the word about
BarCamp Kashmir. (Car Shades are the 2' x 1' banner type promos used
on the rear window of your car).

People interested in putting the promos on their cards for the purpose
of letting other people know about the event, please reply to this
thread so that i can get the same number of shades.

P.S. Replies should come till evening, as in the evening i will be
giving order for them.

One for me ;)

Total = 1

Hello Raashid

First let me congratulate for taking such steps in the valley. I am just 2 weeks old to this group and throughout this period hardly I missed any mail and gossip unread trying to understand maximum of it what all you are trying to do. Having one of the prestigiuos venue for the upcoming event I was thinking how much can be gained for. However, there are some gaps in understanding  which I tried to get cleared from other fellows whom I know.

How many people know about this event, the website doesn't display a brief discription too about this besides depicting the venue and date of event. How to lure the others about this conference?  Who are the audience in particular and who are the people organizing it?  What are the topics and discussions to be delivered? Is it a core IT conference related to core technologies or does it mean to make masses familiar with the applications of the IT? I believe this concept is new in the valley and we aren't mature enough also do we think there are individuals and institutions present who are takers of this concept. Besides having sponsors, are there any grooming institution like Computer science students from Deptt. of University, Colleges clubbed in it?

Every event needs the publicity in the real sense and event promotion should be in compliance with taking all the facts under consideration. I hope you people are doing it to your best.

Thanks
Tanveer

Hello Tanveer,

Nice to hear from you and thanks for the suggestions.

First let me tell you that we have full venue & date details on the
website as well as the list of attendees and the talks for the event.
Talks are open to community and they can vote on the topics according
to their interests.

You are right in saying that the website doesnot even contain the
intro of barcamp. We are trying to put up the text asap. Let me tell
you we have already shoot the intro doc to the group and it contains
all the details regarding the event. But still we need to do a lot for
spreading word to everybody.

Regarding the target audience and attendees, let me tell you that
invitation is open to everybody, but yes, the people associated with
ICT, mainly professionals are the ones.

Regarding event promotion, as you will be knowing we have got car
shades to advt on cars, we are putting up banners in the city, we have
got stickers for the event and moreover it will get coverage in the
local press tomorrow.

A big news :)

Hi Ehsan,

We took some notes at the Tuesday meeting.
Can you share those notes? I remember I was supposed to
do certain things, but do not recall exactly what.
