Talking to many and specifically while batting around ideas with Aaron
Webb and Mike Templeton the idea has been thrown out to hold a BarCamp
targeted around Startups thus my tweets about #startupcamp.

If anyone is interested and helping with planning/organizing please
let me know. We are hoping to have a couple meet ups to get the ball
rolling. In which we will discuss scope, timelines, tasks etc. Once
again if you have ideas or interested respond here or hit me up
directly.

I am also looking for some recommendations for dates. I'm not sure if
January is possible but maybe early February? Let me know what works
and dates that we should avoid based on other user group activities
etc.

Many thanks!

Rob

I don't play much with startups (other than consulting to them), but I
think it would be interesting. I'd suggest March over February, as
weather in Iowa dramatically impacts attendance.

Also, the local security group (ISSA) is interested in doing a
security
"track" or theme at the next BarCamp, be it this one or the more
"regular"
one in the fall. Basically, we'll find various members willing to
give
talks on various security topics and add them to the session mix.

Would it make sense to handle the startups as a "track" at a BarCamp
as well?

That would prevent any problems arising from splitting the membership
and/or over saturating the commitment level of potential attendees to
both.
