Fwd: Shouting to plan for Barcamp Delhi 6

Before the colleges get into exam mode, before the budget comes in and ruins your mood,
and before the weather turns from the cool-cozy winters to the sultry summers -
lets have the 6th edition of Barcamp Delhi. Yes, you read that right.

The Barcamp Delhi 6 (BCD6) is all set to roll out soon.

And to put our foot on the accelerator, Let's get 2 things sorted out soon:

1) Dates - the choices are :
      a)  Feb 21/22 2009
      b)  Feb28/Mar01 2009

2) Could somebody suggest a good enough venue in Central Delhi, which is most probably
     close to a metro station as well. If you have any contacts who can help us book the
     venue, all the more better.

We are waiting for your votes and suggestions.

Regarding (1), Feb 20/21 is when freed.in happens in Delhi, attracting much of North India's (and more) FOSS community to the city. Might use this as an opportunity, as long as it directly doesn't overlap with the event.

22 feb as manish brought into light that we have already have another event freed.in and barcamp is a whole day event as well. So we cannot risk people routing to different places especially in delhi. I dont know much about freed.in, din get quite on their website even. There is just nothing about the event, like no venue no schedules. So I am not sure what its going to be like.

My suggestion lets not risk both the events and intentionally collide it for attracting crowd. Barcamp itself attracts much of the niche crowd :)

It hardly matters if the crowd is the same, even then we would want good attendance at both the events. They are good selling points for OSS and entrepreneurship.

Feb 28 seems to be a good date, make sure we are not clashing with any other event.

BTW how you guys keep a track of tech events in Delhi?
In Pune we had http://punetech.com which used to list all the technical events and event organizers used to consult this site before fixing any date.
Anyone can think of the similar project in Delhi (if not already)
