Jason,
I can offer experience - as an attendee, speaker, sponsor and
organizer for Barcamps in Boston, San Diego and Nashville, and as a
communications consultant doing events management for Fortune 100
brands.
My contact info and resume hasn't been updated, but I've recently
taken a new position here, so I can also offer a few volunteer workers
from my new staff in Dallas who have expressed an interest in helping,
and an international network of resource contacts and other Barcamp
organizers.
For your location search, how many people are you expecting? What
venues are you already considering?
For sponsorship, do you have a rate-card or levels of pricing? How
much do you need for your budget?
Do you have any upcoming meetings? Anyone helping you with PR?
Another thing I can offer is a suggestion about a possible PR
opportunity on January 21 - maybe you've already thought of this...
The Social Media Club is hosting blogger and author Chris Brogan, and
it would be a good audience and great timing to announce the details
of Barcamp Dallas 2010. Do you think that it is possible to secure a
venue before then?
