Periodic BarCamps

I have seen BC being held periodically in various Indian cities, such as B'lore, Delhi and Pune. In fact, Delhi is to hold its 4th BC in May, Pune held its BC in Feb this year, and plans to hold it in September again.

I was wondering why BC Chennai too can't be made periodic. In fact, Chennai's BC is being held after a gap of nearly a full year.

Any suggestions?

I agree and disagree with you.

While other Indian Cities are planning for their 5th or 6th edition of Barcamp, we are now only in the second edition.

But at the sametime, we had so many niche,focused events like Blogcamp,Podworks, Searchcamp,Wikicamp,Webcamp in chennai after the barcamp at regular intervals. We didnt name them as barcamp otherwise we will also be in the sixth or seventh edition of Barcamp Chennai :)

I agree with Vicky.

And all these events which are doing periodic events have totally lost
it. Was in Barcamp Mumbai and apart from all the people who were
there, and jst mindlessly running around, learnt nothing - actually
one topic was good, but all the rest was pure noise.
