Hi Friends,
Drums roll !!!!! The issue of sponsorship for barcamp chennai is
closed.
Cognizant has agreed to sponsor the entire amount budgeted for BCC. I
just had a call with their VP Sairam Muthuswamy confirming the same.
All credits to Revathi for priming the Barcamp idea and getting this
sponsorship !

awesome it is simply...! I would not be able to talk about the venue till Friday (Management is tied up an event). trying to pitch the barcamp idea and arrange the venue as our office for whole event along with night permission.
Btw, can we also get CTS as the venue...(am i getting greedy here ;-)..? So be it...!)

Thanks. even i was kind of surprised when they agreed. They were
really co-operative!! :P

even i was thinking maybe we could ask for one of Cognizant's offices
for the venue. two of cognizant's office's (ones which we own, not
leased ones) have fine auditoriums but then again there would the
issue that these offices are situated on OMR. we could ask anyway.
when they have agreed to sponsor the entire event maybe they would
agree to sponsor the venue too!! :P

Congratulations to all as we got the sponsorship.
Guys should we look in for 2-3 more sponsors say keeping CTS as main
sponsorer and others for separate things like T shirt, Snacks etc. Yeh
if CTS is ready to sponsor each and every thing then nothing like
that :D
Waiting for the MoM's of today's meeting :)
