Suren Dutia is the Chief Executive Officer of TiE, the world’s largest not-for-profit organization. With a singular mission of promoting entrepreneurship globally through mentoring, networking and education, TiE is headquartered in Silicon Valley with a network of 53 Chapters in 12 countries, spread across 5 continents. Suren is an executive with extensive and successful multi-industry experience. He has been involved in corporate management since 1981, when he was President of Dynatech Fluid Technology Corporation, a medical instruments company in Sacramento where he oversaw the management of 4 subsidiaries. Subsequently Suren served as President and CEO of Xscribe Corporation and its successor entity, Photomatrix Corporation, a publicly traded company in San Diego. Prior to working in the private sector, Suren spent ten years in the non-profit and public sectors –with the Community Action Agency (War on Poverty), as Executive Director for a human services agency created by a consortium of local governments and in the U. S. Department of Education in the Carter Administration. In 1997, Suren helped form the TiE Southern California chapter. During his tenure there, Suren chaired 2 annual conferences and served on the Executive Committee for 3 years. Suren went on to establish the San Diego TiE chapter and served 3 years as its President. Suren is also actively involved on the Regional Cabinet of Washington University in St. Louis. Suren is an investor in a number of ventures and is currently working either as a consulting advisor or Board member in these entrepreneurial ventures. Suren has a B.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering and B.A. in Political Science from Washington University in St. Louis and holds an MBA degree from the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas.
