Lyell (a.k.a. 93 Octane) mentioned BarCampCLT was in the works. Just
wondering if it's still on?

Yep - we are currently working on a site - www.barcampcharlotte.org
and doing some organization to get logo and some marketing materials
in place. If you are interested you can sign-up there now :)

I got your information from your website and was wondering if you
would be interested for me to do a free presentation about iPhone
Software Development. I'm located in Charlotte, NC, USA but I will be
in Edmonton in December and January to give several presentations. I
myself am a seasoned Microsoft .Net Architect and in the business for
about 18 years now.

To be honest, the reason for giving these free iPhone Software
Development presentations is to see if there is enough interest for an
iPhone Bootcamp in the greater Charlotte area including Columbia, SC,
and Raleigh, NC.. These potential bootcamps could be 1-day classes to
up to 5-day classes. The iPhone / iPod touch is an extremely hot
market and one of my points in the presentation will be some of the
obstacles I had coming from a PC and .Net background to the Apple
platform.

In any case, I will be in Edmonton, Canada in December and January but
want to schedule the one in Charlotte sometime in January. Please let
me know if you are interested in a presentation. Here is my contact

Hey Tom

Sorry for the quiet group - the event is still on and we are working
on getting a location sorted.

Also we have a placeholder site at barcampcharlotte.com which will
hopefully soon be in place and ready.

I would imagine that a lightning talk at the BarCamp would be a great
way to pull interest in the city around your presentations - just put
yourself up on the barcamp site and we'll be back with details as soon
as we have a location and have locked in some of the sponsorship (it
is coming together).

Cheers

Hi Philip,

Thanks for your reply. I tried adding myself but every time I log in, I'm directed to the general Wiki page and can't get back to your page. Is there a link to add myself to your barcamp?

Thanks,
Thomas Jaeger

Hey Thomas

Probably better to use the BarCamp site itself - http://www.barcamp.org/BarCampCharlotte - it was just upgraded and also I believe the barcampcharlotte.com site is just in the process of changing.

Also I'm excited to announce that we have received confirmation of our first sponsor the Fedora Project (http://fedoraproject.org/) - its well timed too since Fedora 10 is released today :)

We are working on getting the location locked in the next week - and the barcampcharlotte site will hopefully be available by the weekend.  I'll get more details as soon as it is :)

We'll be continuing to look for sponsors and will pull together the details on the composition of the event once we have a home for it.

Cheers
