So far, we have spent a total of $22,151.68 (including grotesquely high PayPal fees)
Although we have $25,931.00 pledged, we are now at: $21,831.00 collected, so we are under.
If and when we collect all of the money, we will put the question out to the community what we should do with it. Already, many have mentioned a BarCamp fund, so Chris is looking into how expensive that would be to maintain (getting non-profit status is no walk in the park and is ironically very expensive). I just wanted to keep you up to date with this.
BarCampBlock Stats in general thusfar?
1634 photos
375 blogposts
564 people through registration (day 1)
92 sessions
105 sponsors (the majority of money collected was in 'the long tail' of sponsors)
240 quiznos boxes eaten up day 2
Not very much beer drunk (seemed our campers weren't in it for the beer after all), very few incidents (unless you've heard of any). WAY too much garbage (note to selves: rent a dumpster next time).
Many many happy people who continue to email me. I will try and get their permission to post afterwards.
