(with apologies to Scott Beale) Yes, they won't win any prizes for artistic use of light and/or composition, but I just put a few pics on flickr of some of the areas we'll be using. The tag is "barcampblockvenue"

Nice Venue! I heart the balcony thing...it worked so nicely for our Web2Open party.

Oh, Tara...what about cupcakes...how much would it be to supply afternoon cupcakes (as a treat) for 400?

Yeah, I was thinking about that, too. What do you think about snowcones or popsicles/icecream instead?

yeah, check into all of that...We've done the ice cream social before, but it gets melty (and people generally come by throughout the afternoon)...do popsicle people have portable freezers?

Yeah, was thinking along the lines of a vendor cart that can go from venue to venue. We can even deck it out with the icecream truck tune...I think that'd be delightfully campy! (er, no pun intended, honestly....)

Though while we're on the subject of the fun and frothy side of things, I was thinking it'd be fun to set up some cairns here and there to play up the camping theme and point people toward the different areas we'll be using. If you like the idea, I'll be in charge of the necessary rock gathering:). I guarantee you they'd make for good flickr shots!

We've got signage coming for directions (arrows, etc.) as well...but we have to be careful about putting them on public property.
