Fred, what do you think about the idea, for now, of creating wiki.barcampbank.com, pointing it at the wiki, and linking to that from the main google groups page (maybe even letting people know in bold "The wiki is now located at wiki.barcampbank.com" or something lke that?) There can also be p2pventurewiki, frwiki, vrmwiki, p2plendingwiki, etc

Just an idea, wondered what you thought about it.

Also, I have been reviewing your project screening concept, in the context of using it for a community Extinction level event start up process (see http://extinctionlevelevent.com ). I am thinking about combining some of the things that I did with organized inquiry, with the majority of what you have in project screening, only changing the nature of some of the project screening "gates" a little bit to reflect on the reality that we already have team commitment, etc.

The basic idea here is to make the "idea" gate a stage where extinction level event posts it's ideas so far for it's business models, plans, etc, then also solicits both feedback, and/or alternative proposed models. The best ideas from this are aggregated and solidified, possibly using a consensus polling process. Then It moves onto the next stage/gate, and the community helps build it towards that, etc, until it reaches the final stage gate, where it will be likely that the project will be ready for funding etc. One core concept is that participants will be able to share in the revenue from the project, should their models be used. This is tricky, but some type of reward should definitely be offered, and I am open to ideas about this.

I hope to have the tools set up to carry this out online by the end of the month, and look forward to any feedback anyone might be able to provide. (I have copied this to the barcampbank group)

Thanks!

Hi Sam,

I agree that we should have a wiki and that http://wiki.barcampbank.com
is a good way to communicate. I think that it should be great if we
could have the domain name sticking and not simply a redirection
(could be a frame containing the target page like we did for
http://bfwatch.barcampbank.com and FractalWiki).

We still have the question of what wiki we should use. The use of
Helmut's FractalWiki was supposed to be temporary (I copied Christophe
for this reason).

I think we can start with http://wiki.barcampbank.com and we'll see
for the other wikis once we have discussed the naming convention
during our next flashmeeting ( http://barcamp.org/BarCampBankFlashMeeting8
). We have indeed to define the naming convention for geographies
(countries and cities), tools (wiki, forums,..) and workgroups
(p2plending, p2pventure, p2pmoney,..)

Cheers,

Frederic

We now have a wiki-hub where everything concerning BarCampBank can be
hooked to.

Only one url to memorize and add to your favorites:

http://www.barcampbank.org

Frederic

Great! Will point http://barcampbank.com at this, too, if that is ok
(until we phase it out).

If you could redirect:

http://www.barcampbank.com to http://www.barcampbank.org
http://france.barcampbank.com to http://france.barcampbank.org
http://p2pventure.barcampbank.com to http://www.p2pventure.org

I think it's good that we have the .com extension to prevent any unpleasant
association like what happens with http://barcamp.com, but promoting the
.org is probably the right direction.

I have redirected all the bfwatch (flexrun, p2pventure) to
http://bfwatch.barcampbank.org. If we all agree (anyone reading this, go to
http://barcamp.org/BarCampBankFlashMeeting8 to vote on that), I'll change
the http://bfwatch.barcampbank.com as well to the .org. We'll just have to
modify the page in Fractal Wiki and everything should then point to a single
url.

Cheers,

Frederic
