and I think we managed to create quite an outstanding commons. I
believe that B&F Watch is currently regarded by a growing population
as a authoritative reference over noticeable sites and relevant
resources related to innovation in banking and finance.
A couple of us are now thinking that the use of a wiki page could be a
limit and are thinking of moving B&F Watch to the next level. Some of
us are considering new solutions like http://www.aboutus.org, others
(including myself) think that we should move to our own custom
solution to create the platform that will let people add new startups,
comment their specificities, promote their achievements. Either way,
my belief is that an enhanced platform would be a fantastic way to
create an experimental P2PVenture platform dedicated to banking and
finance.
We'd like to hear more about what everyone thinks and welcome anyone
interested in participating to the initiative of defining the new
supporting platform.
Cheers,
Frederic
There is now a working prototype based on Drupal and containing the
entire B&F Watch database available at:
Please use it and post your feedback on the forum named "Help us
improve this site".
If you are satisfied with this new way of accessing the lists and with
the possibilities offered of exchangeingon each innovative sites or
articles thanks through attached comments, we will switch to this new
settings to push Bank and Finance Watch to new heights.
As an FYI, we have a flashmeeting scheduled soon (you can still vote
on the date, see http://barcamp.org/BarCampBankFlashMeeting8 )
entirely dedicated to the subject of moving B&F Watch to the next
level.
Thank you for your feedback,
Frederic

I'd also like to suggest thinking about how we can have both sites
like http://bfwatch.flexrun.com while also creating useful presences
in online communities like http://aboutus.org
It's my experience that we really can do both, and that we can make
useful links across communities that will not be detrimental. In fact,
it's my theory that we must do both to grow. We definitely need
centralized sites. Yet, we also need to be part of vibrant communities
that are related to what we are doing. So, we could corss post links
to listings on aboutus.org to http://bfwatch.flexrun.com, and vice-
versa, for instance.
