Ok - I don't know how on earth I have missed all this, but I've only
just yesterday discovered this BarCamp thing!!! Sounds awesome - but i
was very sad to see nothing happening in my home state (did anyone
try? - I see no reference to QLD on the list or on the site).
Anyway - just so happens I am in Sydney this weekend and will try and
attend at least part of BarCampSydney. Would like to help organise a
BarCampQueensland for next year - so if you know of any like-minded
fellows up this way then please forward this message to them. I've
started up a page at http://barcamp.org/BarCampQueensland
I've called it Queensland as Brisbane is a little restrictive, we have
pretty large populations of people on the Gold Coast and Sunshine
Coast - SEQ is becoming one big city really.
Hope to catch up with some of you on the weekend.

Great stuff would be super to make it a regular event!
Janet
If I can afford it, I'll come to one of them...
Given that BarCampMelbourne has not had enough time to get really well
organised, Gary and I have discussed (very vaguely) holding another one
in 6 months time. I'm not sure we could get away with holding another in
April :-)
BB
I'm pretty sure we won't be ready for April. I was thinking we might
try and do one at the same time as BarCampSydney v2 in June.... but am
currently in "gathering people" mode - so not sure. If anyone is
interested in joining us - signup on the wiki - http://barcamp.org/BarCampQueensland
and join the google group.
Steve
ps. BarCampSydney was awesome - well done everybody!
We're tentatively setting our next date for BarCampMelbourne as the 25th
and 26th of August (6 months) with the idea of running them twice a
year, so if you miss June, it would be great to have a load of 'buddies'
to talk to during our next BarCamp.
If you run in June, and I can afford to go to one, I'll probably do
Sydney, as I'll be in Brisbane in December for OSDC anyway...
Ben
Wonder if it would be too much to try and do another in December to
coincide with OSDC?

This could work. Personally, I'll be spending the weekends either side
of the conference in holiday mode. I'm not sure how many others will
also do this.
However, you might benefit from having more people around for the
conference. That said, people might be exhausted after the conference
(or not want to exhaust themselves before it).
