Hi everyone,

I am new to Barcamp Thailand. I missed the Chiang Mai event. How was
it?

I was just wondering if you usually make some (live) video conferences
on the Web for those who cannot attend or if we can see some videos of
the sessions afterwards on youtube, else? Thanks.

Could someone also tell me when will be the next Barcamp in Thailand?

Cheers

Welcome to BarCamp Thailand.

Chiang Mai was good. As ever, a great opportunity to meet a load of new
and interesting people and geek out properly for a few days.

We manage this for some sessions at the Bangkok one, but nobody was
videoing sessions in Chiang Mai.

That is a good question. We should be thinking about this now...

I heard that Barcamp Bangkok will be around Jan '10. Need somebody to confirm it again though ...

It was good fun.

If you are staying in Bangkok, come and meet us every second Thursday
at BeerCamp.
The next one is this Thursday (Nov. 19th), and 31o5 is organising it.

It's a regular event to eat, drink and make friends, and is open in
the spirit of BarCamp.
If you are keen, it's as good place as any to start getting involved
in the next BarCamp.

The Bangkok BeerCamp group URL is:

http://groups.google.com/group/bangkok-beercamp

Best regards,

Mike

Whoops. Clearly I should have said "I didn't see anybody making videos" :)

Thanks Guys for the info!

@rob, I had watched those videos on Google Wave but I was hoping there
would be more. Thanks anyway for the link. Something I meant to say in
my initial message and forgot was about Google Wave. Some people
wanted to make a session on Google Wave for those who could not make
it but in the end all they have been talking about was beers - maybe I
misunderstood, it was a wave Beercamp session, and not a Barcamp
one ;) Anyway, I just thought it was a good idea to involve a wider
audience. Don't know if it would work well though.

@michael, thanks. I had heard about BeerCamp. Though didn't have a
chance to go yet. In that Google group, I don't see any Beercamp for
Nov 19th. Do you have a direct link?

Ok, last question. What are the twitter hashtags for barcamp thailand
(or bangkok) and beercamp in bangkok? Does anyone know?

No direct links, the group is the main place they are announced.
I've nudged 31o5. Next one is supposed to be at some beer garden.

The twitter tag for BeerCamp is just @beercamp.

BarCamp is more of an IRC thing: check #barcamp-thailand.

I think it may work well. In the instance of the wave session we had
there, I had wave open up on the projector, and gave a demonstration,
talked a bit about it. And a few in the audience ran away with their
new found publicity. It was the session right before lunch. :-) The
discussion we had bears little resemblance to the wave.
