We started the Bangkok chapter of Cafe Scientifique and are organizing monthly events always on wednesdays from 19:00-21:00. Events are free of charge, you just have to pay for your own drinks and food like in any normal restaurant.

"Cafe Scientifique is a place where, for the price of a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, anyone can come to explore the latest ideas in science and technology. Meetings take place in cafes, bars, restaurants and even theatres, but always outside a traditional academic context."

Our fist event will be on Wednesday, Jan 25, 2012 with Khun Piriyathep Kanchanadu talking about the EcoVillage Concept at Cafe Tartine (BTS Pleonchit).

"In a city as big as Bangkok – which has been Thailand’s capital city for over 220 years – its momentum can often steamroll right over innovative ideas or new ways of thinking that go against what has been the status quo for centuries. Plans for environmentally sustainable living fall under this classification, but there are a few bright lights in this field that are slowly introducing ground-breaking technology and cutting-edge ideas with the potential for massive change."
