Dear All Barcamp Organisers,

Gen Kanai of Mozilla Japan has purposed the presentation topics by the follow email message. Please add more mozilla topics you want to here in Barcamp Bangkok.

Gen,

I've forward your message to barcamp-thailand at google group. You might not receive all message from them, but I will give you a summary later if it needed.

Cheer,
Patipat.

Patipat,

Right now I am the only one planning to attend.  There may be one more coming from Mozilla but for the moment it is only me.

In terms of content, I can do presentations on:

- Firefox 3.1 (coming later this year)
- Mozilla Fennec (mobile browser)
- Mozilla Labs projects (Weave, Ubiquity, others.)

Or other topics if there is interest.

In terms of Mozilla store things, I think it can be done, but we would need a list of items and a shipping location asap.  I may be able to bring 1-2 Foxkeh plush dolls for special prize (it would be the first Foxkeh in Thailand!)

Hello Gen-san,

That's great, thank you very much for you support.

We've planned to run 8 parallel sessions at a time that's mean 112 sessions in a day. How many mozilla's speaker gonna come? I will reserve the time slot for you guys.

For the current sponsor status, currently we've got around 180,000baht (US$5,381.166 - roughly convertion on dashboard widget). I'm not quite sure about mozilla's payment method. Because, we, the organizers, are volunteer, therefore, we cannot issue any official reciept or invoice for you. Therefore, we would like to request mozilla sponsorship on mozilla's gears, t-shirts, caps, posters, let say mozilla store stuffs, or Foxkeh :-D. It it ok for mozilla side?

For Thai Firefox, I will separate to another email, with Thai team member included. Personally, I think we can make it done before Aug 30, at least landed on nightly build.

Thank you very much, again for your help.

Regards,
Patipat.

Patipat,

I can confirm that we will be able to help with both a speaker and sponsorship.

Can you please update me on the status of the current sponsors?

You mentioned that 80% of your costs are now covered?  What is left that requires sponsorship?

Also, we would very much like to be able to present the Thai Firefox (either official build in 3.0.2 if the timing is right or full-nightly build ready for 3.0.3) at Barcamp Bangkok.  I would like to make sure that the Thai team is ready to work with us quickly between now and Aug. 30, so that we can meet this goal together.

Can we open this discussion to the larger Thai team? (Isriya & others?)

Gen

The current sponsors are now Sanook.com, subsidiary of MWEB ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mweb ), and Opendream, my social enterprise.

Proposed sponsors are Codegent ( www.codegent.com ), Google, Microsoft, Reuters.

Regards,
Patipat.

Can you tell me who are the current sponsors? Or add that to the document?

Thank you,

I've shared a document with you called "mozilla-sponsor-letter":

It's not an attachment -- it's stored online at Google Docs. To open this document, just click the link above.

Hello Gen-san,

This is the official letter for sponsorship to barcamp bangkok 2, right now we have sponsors to cover about 80% of total estimated cost (total ~US$6,500), therefore I do hope Mozilla can be the part of this event. I do understand if Mozilla cannot be a sponsorship on money, but it would be cool, if mozilla can join barcamp bangkok 2.

We've set the date for barcamp bangkok 2 to Sat 30th Aug. An early bird registration has been open and it's about 100 registered people've put their name in the list ( http://www.barcampbangkok.org/event/3/registrants ).

Hope to see you in the camp!

Regards,
Patipat.
