Hi Marketing Team!

Here are some things for you (feel free to translate into Vietnamese):
  • Meeting Notes
    • How to attract presenter?
    • How to attract attendee?
    • Brochure - Do we need it? What are the marketing materials that we can make? (especially for free)
  • Things Marketing Team can think about:
    • What is our target amount of participants? (Last time was 700, but we only got 550 people)
    • What are the main marketing channels? (Facebook, Twitter, Zing.me, Flyers at Universities, etc.)
    • How can you help the Sponsor team to get Sponsors?
    • What is Barcamp? And how can we tell everyone about that?

Hi guys,

Sorry that I havent got access to this page till now :) therefore, I
didnt know what was going. However, our marketing did work offline and
we had a meeting today, which was quite fun and effective ^^ Very nice
to see some of you... and you guys know what... I have to give group
members "lucky money" for a new year... poor me...:P

Ayway, we decided to divide into 3 groups:
Group 1: design team --> manage all the design and printing and
issuing regarding brochures, fliers and posters
Group 2: online marketing team (the name sounds very professional,
lol) --> finding all possible links, regarding forums, webpages,
newspapers, facebook, etc
Group 3: finding presenters

Our strategy: at the early stage - providing ideas - everyone will
help on this --> in the meeting, we decide everyone will write up
their ideas, one slogan, and benefits (advantages) of coming to
Barcamp for both the attendees and presenters...

We have some ideas that actually need to be allowed by the organisers.

However, at the later stage, when we finish collecting ideas and
design, team members will be divided into 3 or 2 groups and then do
their jobs...

We stopped here... and I'm waiting for the reply from people about
ideas ^^
I'll inform you guys soon about what is going on...

Cheers,
Mai Anh

Hi Mai Anh,

I'm Cong Vo, member of Sponsor Team :)
The idea of dividing a big team into smaller ones is so good.
I think that will help team members be more effective.
but, the teams should work together consistently, don't work as
separated teams.

I wonder about the idea of "Group 3: finding presenters", can you
explain that?

ah, one more thing, will I receive "lucky money" too?

Hi All

You do need to find presenters presenters = participants.
In fact, it is more important to communicate BarCamp in a way, that particpants realize, that they are also presenters.

Hi Cong

In the next meeting please start updating the Sponsoring Proposal and ask Tomo to give you feedback, what makes sense or not.
Once having this, folks can go out and advertise.

Chris

Hi All

I guess, it is important that people start working on the designs for
the t-shirt and the banner. Are there already some ideas? Do you want
to make it as an open discussion or as a competition?

Hi Chris,

Do marketing team has to design for the t-shirt as well? we will think about the banner design... we have made a draft for poster already... as a competition would be good, as we can see the ideas from others...

Cheers,
Anh

Marketing team can design a tshirt. That would be great! :-)

In the past, we have tried competitions (poorly marketed and low
participation) and in the end a member of the organizing team (not a
professional designer) made the design.

We can spend some time brainstorming tshirt design ideas at the next
meeting which should be tomorrow.

I think it is definitely a good idea for the marketing team to design the t-shirt, posters, postcards and other marketing materials.

Also, one of my ideas for the marketing team is to do a youtube video about BarcampSaigon.
