Hey congratulations to all those involved in organizing another successful BarCamp Saigon!

Especially to Thomas & Hung who seem to have shouldered most responsibility.
Hope you guys are not too burned out. I know I was wiped out last year.

After hearing Thomas saying this is his last to organize and after my experience last year, I'm starting to understand why the original BarCampers in Silicon Valley haven't done another one in years.
The whole thing is a surprisingly massive production.
The good part is if you guys can pull this off, you can do anything :)

Hopefully, we can figure out a scalable, distributed, and more stress-free plan for future years.
Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea for us to pool our collective experiences and write up a blueprint on how to organize one so that future organizers can easily take over.

In any case, good job again.

Just a question, one of the volunteers asked me to send a presentation that we edited live during my session "Let's brainstorm the next hot social mobile startup!". Is there anyone collecting them and putting them on the website?

If so, here are the details for the document, and thanks in advance:

It was a great event and thanks to all those who made it happen

I am hoping next year that the local yahoo folks can get more involved and help with the organization of it all!

:)

Maybe I'm just a bit on the bright side and yeah, the thought of quitting has been on my mind for quite awhile.

But last night the volunteers wrote to me saying one of their lecturers and their team wanted to do more Barcamps in one year (I know!) and the University of Natural Science wanted to host it. They basically like Barcamp very much and have the eagerness to pull of another one :-)

I told them to think it through and come up with some specific ideas. We would be there to support them with anything they need, and I'm sure we can all jump in if need be.

But yes, as Thomas said it, this should be a grassroot effort and only when people understand that this is not us who're organizing it but all of us who contribute something to making it a  success.

Nguyễn, the developer of the current website, and the Frexy team will do a complete redevelopment to the current site, running Drupal.

My idea is all the "framework" should be there so anytime someone wants to have a Barcamp, we don't have to worry about things going chaotic. The website, the t-shirt, the logo, etc. should be ready and unless someone comes up with a better design, we should make it a default choice.

Anyway, let's wait and see what they have in mind, and surely we should help connect the community to the "behind the scene" work rather than assuming all the responsibility, it's not sustainable :-)

Again, thanks everyone for being a part of it.

Just one remark: We don't have a lack of tools to organize, we have a lack of being responsible for tasks. We had a lot of discussions on the list, but when it came to "Who can do it?", we had few to zero responses.
Thanks have to go to Chanh, who helped a lot. Patrick for the stationary items organisation and Frexy for the website. Not to forget the volunteers.
