Fellow Barcamp Saigon organizers -

The following is a propsed letter. Please suggest changes as desired.
We need to insert a point of contact (POC) for this letter in the
last paragraph - who should we nominate?. As I did not attend last
year, and as this is my first Barcamp, if anything sounds wrong or
should be revised or improved, please provide your "2 cents" now. We
should submit final letter very soon - probably should finish it
tonight.

Dear Baomoi –

As you know, Barcamp Saigon will be held this weekend at RMIT. Last
year’s Barcamp Saigon was a tremendous success for the interchange of
ideas in technology in Vietnam, and this year should be even better
with upwards of 400 people attending this exciting technology event!

Barcamp Saigon will support Vietnam’s vibrant IT sector, allowing many
people, students and members of the IT community to come together and
share ideas on technology. The 400-plus participants will include
people from around Southeast Asia and the world, and it will support
the open source community while fostering cutting edge ideas from
people directly involved in the IT community.

We thank you for your sponsorship; we have put together the following
short list of items that we require for this year's Barcamp event in
Saigon.

4 Packs of DIN A4 paper [Thomas: What’s DIN? Do you mean 500-sheet packages?]
15 Markers (red, blue, black) [Thomas: Erasable or Permanent?]
3 Scissors
2 Cutters [Thomas: What kind of cutter? Please describe]
4 Small rolls clear tape (like Scott tape brand)
2 Large rolls of masking tape (To hang banners, etc)
1 Box of tack-up pins (for corkboards)

400 Letter-size envelopes (for the welcome package)
400 Post-Its in different colors and sizes
400 Ball point pens
400 Notebooks or pads of paper for note taking
400 Highlighters (assorted colors in yellow, blue or pink)
400 Folders (like for school with a pocket on each side) to hold attendee papers

We sincerely thank you for your support of Barcamp Saigon 2009, which
will guarantee a great event, and which will be a great investment
into Vietnam’s future. We hope you can provide these items by this
Friday, December 5th, delivered to _____place_______ at 17:00 hours.

Thx Patrick, they already said they sponsor us, so we dont need to
explain the Barcamp idea. We just need to ask if they can buy the
stuff and bring in time to the venue, so they can get the red
invoice..

We don't need notebooks I think..its a digital conference and we would
like to save some trees :-)

Great email. But like Thomas said, Baomoi knows what Barcamp is so we just need to ask them to support us in purchasing the listed items. Could you trim it down a bit and make it more personal? They're friends :-)
