Thanks to everyone who has registered for BarCamp Apache Oxford. This
is just a reminder that the event is this Sunday the 5th, at the
University Club. We hope to begin at 10AM; the organisers will be
there from 9AM to set up and greet people. As before, event details,
directions, and so forth are here:
http://barcamp.org/BarCampApacheOxford
Please also note that, despite the warning on the web-page that there
is a limit of 50 attendees, you need not worry about this: everyone
who has registered is welcome.
A few more things:
- Please bring power strips if you can: this is particularly
important, as the venue does not have that many outlets.
- BarCamps depend on the contributions of the attendees, so everyone
is encouraged to come ready to lead a 20-minute presentation or
discussion on a topic of their choice.
- Food, drinks, and wireless internet access will all be provided.
Also, you will be able to buy drinks at the bar from 3PM.
- If you have not yet arranged accommodation, a number of people have
placed offers of sleeping space on the event web site; please try to
contact them. We will also try to help anyone arriving on the day
without having arranged accommodation, by matching them to someone
offering it.
- There will be a get-together on the night of Saturday the 4th,
meeting at 7:30PM at Jamals restaurant, on Walton St. See the event
page for more.
Finally, if you need to contact the organisers on the day, please use
the following number:
- University Club main number (venue of the BarCamp, please use only
on Sunday): 01865 271044
Otherwise, please use the e-mail addresses listed on the event page.
Best wishes,
Amir Nettler,
OSS Watch/BarCamp organiser
