Hello fellow barcampers,

Following a discussion after barcampapacheoxford on Sunday, myself and
some of the other participants have decided to hold a low-key code-jam
type day in Oxford.

For those unfamilier with the concept, a code-jam involves developers
and designers getting together for the day to hopefully set in motion
a new project or just experiment with existing technologies in a
communal setting.

We will probably decide in advance either to focus on a particular
topic or have a project concept which we will work on together for a
day or so and if it looks good then obviously we would carry on
working in a distributed environment.

There is no stipulation to skill base and all are welcome, wether you
are a coder or just passionate or knowledgable about a particular
topic your contribution is welcome.

At the moment we have about six people who are enthusiastic about the
idea. If you are interested then please reply to this post or twitter
me. @mattythorne

If you do twitter please also include the tag #barcampoxford as this
idea was born from our unconference!

Cheers,

Matty

I've set up a google group to discuss the specifics of what is now
known as Oxford Geek Jam.
Head over to http://groups.google.co.uk/group/oxford-geek-jam if you
plan to come or are simply interested in the developments!

Dont feel you have to discuss it here though, free to discuss it
anywhere you like!

cheers,

Matt
