Audio for 2013

Does anyone know what sort of audio will be available?  Its critical for my presentation, but so far all I've been told is to bring my own VGA cable (which obviously won't help with audio) and that I'll have access to a microphone (which isn't much help either).  Do I need to bring speakers?

I wouldn’t count on it.  The wireless last year was spotty at best.  If you really, really need it, I would recommend bringing your own hotspot (and make sure it has good service in that area).  And have the backup slides just in case.  J

Thanks for your question. I'm waiting to hear back from our venue to give you a better answer than, "Probably not." We're using house audio so presumably the mixers take a 1/4" input. You may need an adapter if you are using a 1/8" jack. I'll hit this list when I hear back, but Erik is right. Better to be safe than sorry.

I have a separate Verizon hotspot (independent of phone) with its own power cord. It travels with me everywhere and I'll have it Saturday.

It is free. But the provider changed policy—as we experienced it—during our planning. That policy being a 12 month advanced notice. It is unfortunate, I know but 'forward' will not be such a concern.

We just sent off the printing materials for the event with your existing description. Plus the voter app has loaded session info. Even if I did get the change approved it won't show up in the event's primary places with the right information. And it would be confusing to see different things. 

Let me suggest showing up at 8:00 to promote your newer idea. You can spread the word during voting.
