While talking to Brij Singh (he is on this list), he asked me about
Agenda for this first event. Brij made an important point, that we
need to have some focus-area for first event, perhaps we can have
couple of sessions on BarCamp, Networking and other details.

Of course, participants can give session on anything they want, but
having some focus would really help to those who are very new to this
kind of event and also sharing the idea behind the event?

Ideas?

Thanks

Hi!

I guess we can start with "Mobile Apps + VAS Services" as the first focus area. Almost everybody is working on something related to the ubiquitous mobile phone (or shall soon be working!).

Cheers!
Abhishek.

better would be to have a theme as opposed to having focused sessions..

to motivate the speakers from the audience to take up sessions, we could probably get the barcampers to list out sessions they wud want to sit through.. and then the probably speakers could choose which session they wish to take..

this is something which happens in BarCampBangalore.. and has been successful..

Best regards

- Aditi

This sounds better.

I am not sure if the campers list out their interests just before the event or much before that ...

In case it is the latter, I am interested in the following

Web 2.0
Web services / SaaS / Service Oriented Architectures
Mobile Web
Multimedia on the Mobile: technologies and frameworks
Mobile Apps / Mobile VAS
Voice + Mobile + Web / Voice 2.0
Online Strategies for Indian businesses
E Commerce / M Commerce

regards,
Abhishek Singh.

Hi Aditi

I agree with you, we need a theme, that's what I felt but perhaps didn't
put using right word.

We want to have people from all different background, designer,
developer, musicians, etc. I can see IITK has nice design school, so
some folks might be interested and which would attract a larger crowd
from city, who want to learn things.

I am sure, developers and technical guys would show up.

We can start with session we would like to see or basically sub-themes?

Thanks

so what happens is we can open a page on the wiki called as "Suggestions towards sessions" and let the ideas flow on there..

How about a theme like Technology in Design.. Since we do have a design centre in IITK..

Best regards

Hi Aditi

I would go ahead and create a section called "Suggestion towards sessions".

What all can be discussed, if we go with theme "Technology in Design".
What about Technology and Design?

I can see Abhishek has listed topics that are mostly related to
technology. We can have similar lists from design guys?

I would wait for other folks here to share their ideas, let's finalize
the theme based on that?

Thanks

Hi Abhishek

Can you please put down the list (sessions - you want to see) on wiki?

Let's start using Wiki and collaborate there.

Thanks

Hi Abhishek

I missed one point you made, I don't remember if I replied (sorry - not
been sleeping enough).

> I am not sure if the campers list out their interests just before the
> event or much before that ...

If we are able to spread and people show interest to participate, we
would see a lot of topics being suggested. Though, it depends on one to
pick up a topic from suggested list and speak. Hope that happens.

Aditi, Brij - what you say?

Thanks

-abdul

Hi Abdul..
this is a good way forward..
We need to get the campers to list out their interests much before the event.. like atleast 15 days and then we will have to market these interests and get speakers to talk about the same, or something on similar lines..

Best regards

- Aditi

Yup! This is my biggest concern now. I have not been able to get people
register on wiki.

When I forward wiki links to some folks, they end up seeing nothing and
perhaps not registering. Sometimes, if we have some folks (at least all
of us) on wiki, it would make other do the same. I believe, it's human
nature to get attracted towards a crowd (imagine getting into an empty
shop or the one with little crowd?).
