Minutes of meeting(September 06,2009)-Barcamp Kanpur

Hi All

Today we had first meeting to decide & discuss barcamp kanpur related
stuff.

Meeting Members were
1.Abdul
2.Deepak
3.Kanishka
4.Ragini
5.Shalini
6.Shashank
7.Vipul

We agreed upon 1st November,2009 as a final date for the event ( Lets
see whether its comfortable for others as well, lets make it final if
possible)

We pointed out some of the action items to start with:

1.Create a Facebook fangroup for Barcamp kanpur (Deepak will create
one)
2.One Barcamp Banner to be ready by Friday,September 18,2009
3.Talk to caterer to get the rough estimates of snacks/food budget
(some one will get in touch with Dhiresh)
4.Talk to M.Des. guys of IITK (Vipul can look in to this)
5.Put up few topics on wiki that one would like to hear/share at
Barcamp kanpur

Few Details:
-we can also have similar barcamp kanpur group thing on twitter as
well (like FB fangroup)

-We are planning to have a banner made by 18th September, so that we
can promote barcamp kanpur, atleast in IITK as there is some event on
18th to 20th September.

-Vipul as you said, can you talk to M.Des. guys and and let them know
about the event and if interested they can share their experiences and
can also look in to logo and other designing stuff for barcamp kanpur.


All those who were in the meeting please feel free to add more action
steps and details to this list ( I might have missed few points )

(Sorry for delayed response, by mistake I just replied to Deepak on 7th,
instead of entire list - posting it here).

1) What everyone things of Nov 1, 2009? Abhishek/Dhiresh/Aditi?

2) I would touch base with Dhiresh and Abhishek offlist to discuss and
finalize catering and venue stuff. We would post the details on this later.

3) Let's hope, discussion between Vipul and MDes guys goes well and they
get enthu to participate in the event and contribute in logo, banner,
poster and t-shirt design. Otherwise, we can look at other volunteers or
take help of a designer at our office.

4) Regarding banner, that has to be done for Shashank by Sept 18, we can
start a discussion here for ideas. I don't think, we would have logos,
etc by then hence we might need to use simple design or just words on
the banners.

5) BTW! I have got registration for barcamkanpur.org done, some weeks
back, totally forgot it. I think, we also have "barcampkanpur"
twitter-id, I can share the credentials with all those interested to tweet.

6) Following are the links of my postings in BarcampBangalore and
PuneStartups(guessing), some of you mentioned that we needed to do. We
can perhaps update the thread?

Hi Guys

1) What do you think about Nov 1, 2009? Should we go ahead with that or
any other proposals?

2) Dhiresh/Abhishek, sorry I couldn't get back to you on caterer choice
and discussion. I think, it's fine if we can talk right here in group,
perhaps different thread. The idea is to find a caterar and talk to him,
so we can know how much it would cost per person for
breakfast+lunch+evening-snacks? Once we would know, how many people
might attend event, we can do the booking with caterar?

3) Vipul, any update, what does MDes guys say?

4) Banner for event on Sept 18-20, I am working with Shashank to get
some banners done. I posted another thread to seek ideas on banner,
please share your ideas. We have to get banners done within two-two days.

Everyone please feel free to share your ideas. Let's get moving. I am
sorry, if I am pushing things - but I know, everyone is busy, so I just
felt like updating.
